With a clean, aesthetic interior incorporating plenty of greens and wooden accents, the Loft 647 has sets a perfect example for being an eco-friendly business whilst maintaining promising service quality. The chic hair salon is located in West Hollywood, Los Angeles—the city of clean environmental policies as well as buzzing, glamorous Hollywood life.
One of the two co-founders is A-list colourist Lorri Goddard, who is known for perfecting blonde shades on famous celebrities like the Olsens, Kristen Stewart and Chloe Grace Morëtz.
The other co-founder, stylist Cory Scott, has committed to working with environmentalist California Senator Kamala Harris.
The idea for the space was to bring the outside inside by the use of natural, raw materials that we sourced locally.

The two partners have worked hard in making sure that the salon sustains visual appeal as well as their commitment to staying green. They have consolidated this vision in some of these aspects:
Furniture & décor picks
The loft space has been decorated with snake plants and rubber, dracaena and fiddle leaf trees, which all help in removing harmful chemical substances such as ammonia and formaldehyde from the air.
Goddard has brought in furniture pieces by George Nelson, Eames and Saarinen from her personal collection while adding locally sourced counter-top made from reclaimed wood and styling chairs furnished with vegan leather, which is made of polyurethane from plants instead of the animal skin used to make traditional leather goods.
Energy consumption
The salon’s smart architecture allows generous natural lighting to be flooded in from multiple directions, reducing the amount of generated light to maintain the brightness indoors. Low voltage LED bulbs have also been simultaneously added, with the exception of using professional lighting at the hair dying station to ensure accuracy of the colour shades.
Products
Scott and Goddard have hand-picked products from cruelty-free brands such as Grown Alchemist, Kevin Murphy and Christophe Robin which have natural and organic ingredients.
For added benefits to the results of the hair styling processes, electrically ionized, pH neutral water is used for giving hair the final rinse to help with shine and soothe the scalp. The salon does not only cater to the smallest details to ensure an ecological inputs and processes. After a quick trim, hair which would normally be simply thrown away is donated to the Matter of Trust Clean Wave Program , ecological public charity concentrates on reusing man-made surplus. Loft 647 reflects their L.A. spirit with their gender neutral bathroom, which both Scott and Goddard pride themselves upon.
This is a place where everyone is welcome.
