If you’re more than ready to update your spring wardrobe with floral and pastel pieces but do not want to add to the ever-expanding waste produced by one-off fashion, we’ve got great news! H&M’s Conscious Exclusive collection for 2017 transforms BIONIC®—a polyester created out of recycled plastics from shoreline waste—into pieces of fresh spring beauty and sensuality that is set to launch online and in-stores come April 20th, 2017! What an ingenious way to combine both the freshness of spring with the soul of sustainability.
Natalia Vodianova, campaign ambassador and founder of Elbi, a philanthropy digital platform connecting users with a global network of charities, describes the collection:
H&M’s Conscious Exclusive collection shows how the best style can be mindful of the planet, to help protect it for the future. It’s such a desirable collection, with pieces made in sustainable materials that you want to wear for seasons to come.
Accessories and kids’ clothing, too
Accessories include a fishnet bag made entirely from recycled shoreline waste, as well as quirky and elegant earrings made from recycled glass and plastic. For the first time ever, the collection also includes a selection of charming street styles for the kiddos, think beautiful little tulle dresses and softly structured blazers, as well as a set of unisex organic oil fragrances that can be worn separately, or mixed together to create a unique scent.
Conscious Exclusive is just part of H&M’s move towards a more sustainable future: 26 per cent of H&M’s clothing is now made from sustainable materials and the fashion giant aims for 100 per cent of its cotton to be sustainably sourced by the year 2020.
