If it takes a village to raise a child, then Kafnu in the Shangri-la group Kerry Hotel Hong Kong is the vertical village that inspires a community of creatives and entrepreneurs alike. Kafnu is named after a village in India at the base of the Himalaya, a place for explorers and adventurers.
It advances the collaborative workspace with a reimagined urban environment—blending the elements of hotel, co-working space, restaurant, cafe, bar and gym—that allows creative energy to flourish. With jaw-dropping views over the Victoria Harbour front, Kafnu is more like a private club with super-cool conference rooms than a co-working space.
Kafnu design principles
Under its motto ‘Challenge the ordinary’, Kafnu’s primary focus is on the development of human potential and achievement while providing the tools, facilities and services to support personal objectives. Its brand promise includes mentoring and scholarship programmes to make dreams a reality.
Kafnu applies biophilic (connection with nature) and feng shui-led design principles in all working and resting spaces.
Kafnu’s core concept is to provide the spaces, tools, and services to bring together diverse groups of people to learn and support each other and ultimately attain advancement as an individual as well as a community.

Designed to integrate work and life
Micro-sections of around 50 square metres turn the space into little work and play pockets. Texture, colour, light and custom-designed aquascapes keep with the sense of nature imbued in the space. And members will benefit from the seamlessly integrated outdoor space. Take a break! Life isn’t always about work, you know.
Eat, sleep, network, play, repeat
Kafnu has thoughtfully designed every corner of its spaces. During the launch period, members will receive a HK$150 credit towards Kafnu facilities and services. It has thought of every convenience you’ll need during the day: order food from one of the many restaurants via an iPad ordering system; work out at the gym within the facilities; book a meeting, stroll outside, or make yourself a coffee or cocktail.
Two different spaces: Spokes and hubs
“Spokes” are generally smaller Kafnu spaces that offer similar amenities and experiences, but designs and the type of customer may vary. While Kafnu believes in localising its spaces, there are a number of common themes throughout all operations. Interesting artwork, aquascapes, feng shui, outdoor spaces, relaxation areas and top-of-the-line technology all feature.
Since June 2017, Kafnu has a very strong development pipeline that includes the opening of Kafnu Taipei in November 2017. Kafnu Bangalore, Sydney, Melbourne, Ho Chi Minh City, and Colombo are all scheduled to open in 2018.
Follow Kafnu on Facebook or give them a call to have a tour of the amazing space, right on the Harbour front.
