Located on a lush tropical island in the Dhaalu Atoll, Kandima Maldives is just a thirty-minute flight from Male International Airport, followed by a twenty-minute boat ride. From August 2017, Kandima will be offering a yoga retreat like no other, with TV presenter Nick Knowles and yoga doyen Luke Bache! Called “Relax, Reset and Evolve”, it will be personally hosted four times this year by Nick Knowles and the thoroughly experienced yoga therapy instructor Luke Bache. The retreats will combine the very best of yoga in picture perfect surroundings at the brand new Kandima Maldives.
Every “Relax, Reset and Evolve” retreat is specifically designed to inspire necessary life changes, both mentally and physically and to give guests the tools to form new habits to enable them to change their lifestyle and balance going forward. Through yoga, cooking and inspiring talks on stress reduction, better focus and wellbeing, the week promises to be a truly transformational experience.
Nick met Luke last year on the BBC’s ‘The Retreat’ when his strenuous work life took a toll on his mental and physical health. Through yoga, meditation and healthy eating, Nick quickly felt rejuvenated and energised. While at ‘The Retreat’, Nick and Luke bonded over a shared passion and enthusiasm to help others, as well as, MANY coconuts and vegetarian meals. The result – week long “Relax, Rest and Evolve” retreats at the newly opened Kandima Maldives!
With over 14 years’ experience, Luke is an internationally experienced Yoga teacher, Therapeutic Yoga and Mindfulness consultant. He has studied with the best teachers from around the world, from shaolin masters in qi gong to thai monks and the most experienced of yoga teachers.
What the week looks like
Each morning begins with a therapeutic yoga class tailored to a specific part of the body, finishing with a short mindful meditation that further calms the mind and nervous system. Afternoons consist of a mindful moving class for cardio or a ‘yin’ yoga class that works on the connective tissue, ligaments and tendons helping to work into those particularly tight areas.
The days conclude with either an evening talk on health and wellness or a guided total body relaxation class.
In addition, guests on the retreat will also partake in two massages at ‘esKape,’ the Kandima spa and attend three cookery classes throughout the week. Psst – cooking classes will include visits to the ‘chefs’ garden’ to pick fresh herbs and vegetables!
